History: Karl Ruprecht Kroenen was born in Munich, Germany in 1897. At a young age he took great interest in the paranormal, especially vampires. In 1915 Karl's father died from Tuberculosis leading him to follow in his fathers footsteps as a man of science.
By the end of World War I, Karl had established himself as a one of Germany's leading scientists as well as being a formidable martial artist and swordsman. It was during this time that he was attacked and turned into a vampire whilst experimenting on dead soldiers. After his attack Karl disappeared, only to resurface in Berlin in 1933 where he joined the Nazi Party as a researcher.
He quickly rose through the ranks to become a Obersturmbannführer (Lieutenant Colonel). He was awarded the Iron Cross for services to the Third Reich and transferred to the SS Paranormal Division where he began his experiments on creating the perfect super soldier using vampire blood and DNA most of which was his own. In 1944 after much trial and error Karl chose 40 men from within the Paranormal Division of the SS to be test subjects for his Vampire Super Soldier experiment. The test was so extreme on the human body that only 25 of the 40 men survived the experiment.
During a raid on Allied forces in England, Karl's unit of Vampire experiments were wiped out by a joint mission of the Van Helsing Family, Order of Cromwell and the SAS. It was during this time, Karl went into hiding, fleeing to Blood City with the help of his Abhuman Underworld contacts.
After his disappearance, an unmarked grave in Romania was found. Dental records identified the remains as those of Kroenen, throwing the Van Helsing Family and the Order of Cromwell off his trail for good.
